What this calculator covers

Star Force terms

Star Force strengthens equipment by spending mesos on a sequence of enhancement attempts. Success and destruction rules vary by star, so the cheapest-looking route is not always the safest or most affordable route over many attempts. This calculator models standard equipment from your current star to your target, then compares the meso cost, replacement risk, and strategies available at each step.

Modeling a complete enhancement route

Plan mode runs repeated simulations with the item level, current and target stars, spare-item cost, MVP discount, event bonuses, Safeguard, and Enhancement Mode choices entered in the workspace. The results summarize meso spending, booms, and replacements across percentiles rather than presenting one average as a guaranteed budget. Optimize mode searches the available strategy combinations for a budget and spare limit. Transfers compares a direct route with a zero-boom equipment-transfer route.

GMS v271 removed Star Catching and permanently applied its 5% multiplicative success bonus. A 30% success rate becomes 31.5%, with the remaining failure and destruction chances redistributed proportionally.

Budgeting a 17-to-22-star push

Suppose a level 200 item is already 17 stars and a clean replacement costs 5 billion mesos. Set the current star to 17, the target to 22, enter 5,000,000,000 as the spare cost, and choose the event and MVP settings that will actually apply. Run the simulation, then compare the median with the 75th and 90th percentile costs. The median describes a typical modeled run; the higher percentiles are more useful when deciding how much to save before an event because unlucky streaks and destroyed copies can move the real cost far above the average.

When protection is worth the premium

Safeguard pays an additional meso cost on eligible attempts to prevent destruction. It can be worthwhile when replacement items are scarce or expensive, but it does not guarantee success and is not available at every star. Enhancement Modes change the risk and cost rules for supported attempts. Configure them star by star in Plan mode instead of assuming one choice is best everywhere; the value of avoiding a boom depends on the price and availability of your spare equipment.

Variance, exclusions, and player inputs

Star Force is random, so no simulation can predict one character's exact outcome. More trials make the displayed distribution steadier, but they do not remove in-game variance. Event settings, discounts, item level, and strategy choices must match the attempt you intend to make. The calculator covers standard equipment under the linked rules; Superior equipment and special replacement rules are outside its scope.
